The Moving Image

For this animated gif I decided to make one of the emotions alot of us feel regulary. I thought it would be easy and fun to make. The first face is a really happy face. The second emotion is just a normal smiling face that then goes into a sad face. The final face is a crying face that ha tears going down its cheek. These are all emotions that we have experienced nd some of us experience everyday.

For this animated gif I made a dandelion thats pedals are being blown away. The gif starts with the dandelion with all of the pedals on it. Then you see the wind blowing the pedals away. At each frame more and more pedals are off of the flower.

For my new media art piece I decided to make another gif. For this gif I tried to have a theme and mood. The theme for thi gif is nature and I tried to create the mood as being relaxing. When I watch this gif, it makes me think of a relaxing afternnon by a pond. The ducks in the water swam from one side of the pond to the other untill they were eventuallyout of sight from where I had my camera set up.

What Is Stop Motion Animation?

Stop Motion Animation is when you take a series of pictures that are put together to make a video. You move the object a little bit and take a picture ater every time the object is moved.

The stop motion animation I helped make was about a girl that walked past a jewelry store and saw a ring she really liked. She walked inbto the store and took a look around and realized she couldnt afford the ring she wanted. The next time she walked down the street she saw a sign on the door that said 'Be Back Soon' so she walked into the store and stole the ring as well as a coupl oher items. The girl got caught stealing and went to jail where her mother paid to get her out. There were four senes throughout this animation, on the street, in the store, in the jail, and in the jail cell. When we were deciding what the story line would be about, we thought about what would allow us to add more detail in the sets.

Tips To Remember When Making A Stop Motion Video:

1. Have the same camera angle throughout the entire scene.

2. Be clear as to what the characters are doing.

3. Move the characters/objects slowly to get more photos that will go into the video.

Story Used To Create Our Stop Motion Animation:

One night Ava was going to steal a diamond ring from the local jewelry store. Ava was walking to the jewelry store and got really nervous. She would see the police drive by her when she was walking and got ever more nervous. When she got to the jewelry store she saw the light on she walked by and saw there were still people inside. Ava walked away and waited for them to leave and waited for the owner to leave to so she wouldn’t be caught. She broke into the store but once she did the alarm went off. Ava grabbed the diamond ring and ran for a few blocks but then the police caught up to her and then she was arrested and went to jail. THE END.
