For my culture assignment I chose to research Costa Rica. I researched things like the fod they ate, their wildlife, and their main towns/cities. On my collage, I included the outline of Costa Rica and used the foods they grew/ate a lot of and used them to show where some of the big cities were. around the outside of the map, I layer masked some animals that were unique to Costa Rica. The background of my collage is the Costa Rican flag.

Under The Sea

The food themed landcape was an assignment I found very fun and creative. I chose to have an underwater theme because I thought it would give me a variety of things to make. For some of the coral, I used two piences of lettuce and put them next to each other. For another underwater plant I used a pasta noodle. The turtle in the water was one of the things I most enjoyed making, I got a chocolate turtle and used that as the main part of its body. I used bananas as the legs but I rotated them to make it look more realistic. For the head of the turtle I used a skittle. For some of the other fish in the water I simply just used a goldfish craker. This assignment taught me that there are many different ways to make one thing.

For the Veg Fruit Head assignment I decided to make all of the parts of the head out of fruit. For the head I used half of a watermelon. I thought this would make a good head because it is round and the inside of the watermelon adds some colour to the face. For the hair I got three grape stems and arranged them to make them look like hair all the way around the head. For the mouth I used a banana and rotated it to make it look like a smile.  For the nose of my fruit head I used an upside down raspberry. The eyes in my opinion turned out the best on my fruit head. I used three blueberries but left the leaves on them to make it look like eyelashes. I made the eyebrows out of two pea pods and placed them over each of the eyes.
