What I learned during the Still Image Unit:
-
Value is the lightness or darkness of a colour.
-
Unity occurs when all of the elements of a piece combine to make a balance, harmonious, complete whole.
-
To make a blurred image you either need to be out of focus (don’t adjust settings), object moves, you move the camera while shooting (panning), or use photoshop.
-
Aperture is the opening that changes in size to admit more or less light.
-
Depth of field is the area or ‘zone’ of a photograph from front to back which is in focus.
-
Black objects absorb light and leave paper white. (Pinhole camera)
-
The relationship between aperture, shutter speed, and ISO is that if you adjust one you must adjust the others because manipulating one affects the other.
History of Photography:
-
It took the first photo eight hours of exposure time.
-
Photos used to only be taken for important events such as family photos/weddings, etc. now they are taken for more unnecessary things like selfies.
-
Joseph Nicephore was the first to take a photograph in the summer of 1827.
-
One of the first cameras used was the Pinhole Camera.
-
The first camera on the market was the Kodak Brownie.
